How to book your Battlefield Tour
The following instructions outline the procedure in booking a multi-day residential tour inclusive of accommodation.
In order to ensure we can accommodate your request please inform us as soon as possible as to the size of your group and on which date and at what location you wish the tour to commence and conclude. Once we have received this information you will be quoted a fee for your tour. After this initial agreement has been confirmed you can liaise with us directly with any special requests of visiting certain areas.
To confirm your tour you will need to make a payment of a non refundable deposit of approximately thirty-five percent if your trip is over 60 days away or if your tour commences within this time period, the full amount. If you pay a deposit, the remaining balance should be settled at a date no later than 60 days from the start of your tour. Once your deposit or full payment has been received you will receive an email outlining your tour schedule in full. This document acts as confirmation of your booking. From the moment a deposit is paid, it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate travel insurance; this is something we strongly recommend. Advice on insurance can be obtained if requested when returning your booking form. In the very unlikely event of us having to cancel your tour (Stuart has never had to cancel one of his tours in over 10 years as a full time guide), we will contact you in order to arrange a full refund of any monies already submitted whilst also trying (if you wish us to do so) to put you in touch with another tour operator.
Please remember you may be visiting areas that exist on rough terrain. Although the Normandy climate is mainly pleasant in the summer time, weather conditions at any time of year may be inconsistent, please make sure you are wearing the appropriate clothing, especially the correct footwear. Most places we visit are easy to access. Some however exist on difficult terrain and will involve a fair amount of walking and physical exertion. Some sites are not practical for those people with mobility or health issues. If in our opinion a person (for whatever reason) can not easily access such sites we reserve the right to change the tour itinerary without notice.
We do not recommend any of our tours for youngsters under the age of 12.
We carry all the necessary policies and documents in order to fulfil legal regulations in respect of carrying paying customers within our safety checked vehicle (seat belts are fitted and must be worn by law when the vehicle is in motion).
The individual customer is responsible for their own travel insurance.
Additional Terms and Conditions of Booking
All tours are non-transferable and non-refundable. However, if after Normandy Battle Tours (NBT) has confirmed acceptance of your booking and you wish to change the dates of your tour we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. Any changes requested after eight weeks prior to commencement may at the discretion of NBT be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and will be subject to the cancellation charges set out below.
All cancellations must be notified in writing (including email). If you cancel your tour more than 60 days from the start date of your tour all funds will be refunded less your deposit. If you cancel your tour less than 60 days before your tour is scheduled to commence you shall receive no refund. (Please note that if the reason for cancellation is covered by your travel insurance you may be able to reclaim these charges from your insurer).
There may be circumstances in which we have to cancel your tour and if this should occur we will return to you all the money you have paid to NBT or offer you an alternative tour. However if the reason for cancellation results from any event beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to hostilities, political unrest, war or warlike activity, threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, flood, epidemic or health risk, on advice from any environmental health office or government body, technical problems to transport, airport closures, adverse weather conditions then no refund will be made but you should be able to reclaim any payment already made through your travel insurance.
NBT reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking or terminate a tour in the event of conduct which in the exclusive opinion of any of its employees or principals is likely to cause distress, damage, danger or annoyance or damage to property belonging to members of your party, employees of NBT, any third party. This includes your failure to advise NBT of any medical condition or disability as described below. If your tour is terminated as a result of any of the conduct described in this paragraph, NBT will not be responsible for any loss, cost, expense or damage sustained by you or any person in your party as a result thereof.
If you have any special need, including any disability, NBT will be pleased to accept your booking insofar as we can accommodate you in our vehicles. Any disability or special requirements must be notified to NBT in writing at the time of booking. You should also be aware that although many sites cater for wheelchairs, there may still be steps or stairs and some sites visited may not be accessible to those with mobility needs.
You and NBT agree that this contract is subject to British law and the courts of Great Britain shall have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute or difference arising between the parties. In the event of disruption caused by any circumstance described and in the furtherance and best interests in the continuance of the tour, NBT reserves the unconditional right to alter the itinerary, routes, accommodation arrangements or any other detail as may become unavoidably necessary during the tour arising from reasons beyond our control. We will discuss any necessary changes with you before making them, but NBT will not be obliged to extend the duration of the tour or change the final destination. NBT will not be responsible for any consequential loss to you or additional expense arising from any changes made in such circumstances.
By booking a tour with NBT you warrant that you and all members of your party are physically and mentally fit to undertake the agreed itinerary. For your protection and ours it is strongly recommended that you and all members of your party have in force from the moemnt of the confirmation of your tour, travel insurance which will indemnify you in respect of the normal risks of travel, including in particular injury, illness or death. Your policy should as a minimum cover the cost of emergency medical treatment, repatriation, loss of baggage, compensation for travel delay, and cancellation fees.
Any complaints or dissatisfactions should be notified in the first instance to either Stuart or Jennifer Robertson and if not immediately resolved should be notified in writing to NBT within 28 days after completion of the tour. You agree that if the complaint cannot be immediately resolved by NBT to your satisfaction you and NBT will enter into mediation before you take any other action.
NBT is insured in respect of public liability. The company accepts liability for personal injury or death arising out of its negligence or for loss arising out of any breach of contract on its part, but will not be liable for any consequential or purely economic loss whatsoever.
It is understood that by booking a tour with Normandy Battle Tours you have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions as outlined on this page.

Stuart Robertson holds a Professional Chauffeurs Licence (Carte Professionelle 2016/50/009) as issued by the Prefecture of the Departement of La Manche. As part of this licence Stuart Robertson holds a Diploma in First Aid (PSC1-FNSPF-2016-020399-451) and has succesfully completed a vocational medical assessment (As per Article R221-10 : Code de la Route pour les conducteurs).
