How to book your Battlefield Tour / Terms and Conditions

In order to ensure we can accommodate your request please contact us as early as you possibly can. When emailing us, please confirm how many people are in your group, where you wish the tour to commence and conclude and whether or not you wish to use your own vehicle for the tour or if you need us to provide transportation. If we are able to offer you a tour then pre-payment of a deposit of €150 per day shall be required in order to confirm your tour (or if you would prefer, you can pay the full fee in advance) - all deposit payments are non-transferable and non-refundable*. However, if in the very unlikely event that we need to cancel your tour you shall receive a full refund of all monies paid to us**. 

Any outstanding balance not already settled by the commencement of your tour is to be paid in cash (in euros) at the commencement of the first day of your tour (please have payment ready as there are not neccessarilly ATMs on the route of our tour)..

Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place which will cover you if for any reason you need to cancel your trip. Each individual tour member is responsible for their own travel insurance.

Most locations we visit are easy to access. However, some sites do exist on difficult and perhaps uneven terrain and will involve a fair amount of walking and physical exertion. This means that some sites are not practical for those with mobility or health issues (please inform us of any such issue before your arrival - it is no problem to adjust the itinerary to take this into account but we do need to know about it before the commencement of your tour).

Our suggested tour itineraries are based on a tried and tested timetable and will be achieved as long as we follow the suggested timings. If these timings (such as suggested start times) are not kept, or if a member of the tour party is not able to keep pace with the suggested itinerary, then sites may need to be omitted from the tour schedule. Please note that when using the services of a third party transport company, the quoted end time for a tour must be honoured.

Please note that in France there are very strict laws on driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. Your reservation is accepted on the strict condition that whoever is driving the vehicle will not consume any alcohol during the tour.

* All tours are non-transferable and non-refundable. However, if after Normandy Battle Tours (NBT) has confirmed acceptance of your booking and you wish to change the dates of your tour we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. 

** There may be circumstances in which we have to cancel your tour and if this should occur we will return to you all the money you have paid to NBT or offer you an alternative tour. However if the reason for cancellation results from any event beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to hostilities, political unrest, war or warlike activity, threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic or health risk, on advice from any environmental health office or government body, technical problems to transport, airport closures, adverse weather conditions then no refund will be made but you should be able to reclaim any payment already made through your travel insurance.

NBT reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking or terminate a tour in the event of conduct which in the exclusive opinion of any of its employees or principals is likely to cause distress, damage, danger or annoyance or damage to property belonging to members of your party, employees of NBT, any third party. This includes your failure to advise NBT of any medical condition or disability as described below. If your tour is terminated as a result of any of the conduct described in this paragraph, NBT will not be responsible for any loss, cost, expense or damage sustained by you or any person in your party as a result thereof.

NBT reserves the unconditional right to alter the itinerary, routes or any other detail as may become unavoidably necessary during the tour arising from reasons beyond our control. We will discuss any necessary changes with you before making them, but NBT will not be obliged to extend the duration of the tour or change the final destination. NBT will not be responsible for any consequential loss to you or additional expense arising from any changes made in such circumstances.

By booking a tour with NBT you warrant that you and all members of your party are physically and mentally fit to undertake the agreed itinerary. For your protection and ours it is strongly recommended that you and all members of your party have, from the moment you make payment of your deposit, travel insurance which will indemnify you in respect of injury, illness or death, cost of emergency medical treatment, repatriation, loss of baggage, compensation for travel delay, and any potential cancellation fees.
